A quick review
First there was Fabulous Fabrice Tourre and the CDO designed to fail.
Then Lloyd Blankfein decided Goldman is “doing God’s work“.
God is obviously relaxed about the multiple conflicts of interest on the El Paso takeover, where ”Goldman was on every conceivable side of the deal”…
(which was reminiscent of Goldman’s behaviour on the BAA takeover)…
Then along came Greg Smith, who can “honestly say that the environment [at Goldman] now is as toxic and destructive as I have ever seen it“.
Pretty soon people will be saying that Goldman is a “vampire squid wrapped around the face of humanity, relentlessly jamming its blood funnel into anything that smells like money“.
This guy has a job on his hands.
