The Times reports today (here, paywall) that:
“According to research by the recruitment consultancy Hedley May, of 781 non-executive directors in the FTSE 100, m’learned friends account for only ten. In the FTSE Mid-250, the figure is 34 out of 1,411.”
As The Times’ Ian King suggests, it “is hard to argue…that the Barclays board would not have been enhanced, in the past seven or eight years, by the senior partner of a “Magic Circle” law firm or two”.
